You're right! I always wanted to be a Fat Cat and now I am, and I didn't even have to get a job at Goldman Sachs! Anyway, I'm enjoying your newsletter. Since Maine is my favorite get-away venue, I subscribed to keep up with events in the Pine Tree state about what is arguably the most important issue of our time: the neoliberal capitalist destruction of planet earth, our precious resource base, without which nothing survives. We're making an effort down here in Delaware to raise awareness of the issue, but it's a quixotic quest. Eye-witness reports on recent frontline protests are posted on Reflections in the Frame . . . Onward!

Welcome to the Club, Stewart! Don’t be too starry eyed about Vacationland — we talk a good story, but in many areas the talk doesn’t hold up to the light of day. In fact some of the states leaders who love to trash renewables are the most advanced. Texas leads the nation in wind power, and is second in solar. Florida is third in solar. Politicians love to talk to the base, while money whispers in the background.
